This was our first CAD session with Craig, it was also our first introduction to what will most likely be one of our most important skills ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR. To start with Craig had us get to grips with using the pen tool creating shapes, making things transparent and then filling in colour, adding in different strokes, and placing patterns. As this session was all about learning the program and feeling comfortable there was no need to worry about the outcome so we were able to try different things out with no pressure.
Once we had got to grips with the program, we were tasked with making a simple keyring that Craig would then laser cut for us for the next session hopefully. For my keyring I wanted to make something using all of the tools I had learned so far, creating a large phone shaped rectangle and then used the white mouse to bring the corners in and round them off. Next, I added in my name, some small ''app'' icons to keep up the look I left the middle blank as to not have too many problems with the file for laser cutting.

This session was really good at introducing me to using adobe illustrator. As I will be using this program for much of my work during coming modules such as '' design for script'' it was really easy to follow introduction that has introduced me to the basics and given me a platform to build my skills on.
