After completing John's demonstration of the InDesign tutorial I felt it was time to put into practice some of the things I had learned below is my first draft of the portfolio front page which I made before the session.

Bellow here is the updated portfolio cover which was made using tips from the InDesign session the difference is clear and honestly, it looks much better in the original design I made a series of messy blue lines to create an abstract vibe however it looked like nothing had been considered design-wise.

another example of the change that had been made to my portfolio is this page which displays my foundation year models. This page when I first drafted up my portfolio had no design concept and was just a dump of images and a title.

Yet with the addition to some corner covers made on the master page to keep the design theme consistent, I also used the same bold and slight neon yellow to both matches the initial content that the reader will see on the first few pages such as the toxic green colour in the waste in the model in this page.

Here you can see what the page looks like with the gutters and columns and using these throughout my portfolio has given it a much more consistent theme across my work, the InDesign tutorial has most definitely influenced the outcome of my portfolio as I would have never thought about using columns as can be seen by my initial first draft of the portfolio compared to these pages now.
