As my final submission for the Establishing Professional Practice Project for Observation and Representation, I wanted to tell the story of Peel Park, to do this I chose to create a series of characters and images that I felt could bring out all of the different issues in the park such as vandalism, littering/pollution, and overall damage to the park.

To begin with, my vandal character is going around peel park spraying graffiti everywhere, and causing damage to different parts, by highlighting the damage to the park it was a great starting point as it gives my character's motivation for what they do and also allows the other aspects of my story to both make sense and also justify and explain their actions.

After all that vandalism the park manages to still grow and thrive which is what the drawings and images of the mushrooms in the tree trunk show that even under bad condition nature can still thrive and grow and fight back. The tree growing on the walking path shows that nature can still grow and live in harmony with people building and damaging the area.

While not just nature is fighting back, the spirit of the park is also fighting by having the character (the villain axe man) I created from exploring the Salford Art Museum, going around and enacting its revenge on all of the people still in the park and who continue to damage the area. This really let me also build up the history of this character by implementing him in all sorts of parts of the park the photos of Salford though time him being there, shows that he can come back at any time that the park is under threat from people. I was really interested in connecting all of my separate characters into one story so having the same theme but with how the park reacts to us humans using it I felt really reflects these ideas that I'm trying to put forward.

Finally, after my axe villain has got his revenge the pollution in the park is then cleared and thankfully the fish can return to the river this shows the effect in the story that the villain of the park has done and how he was just trying to protect the park all along. I really enjoyed how the addition of the fishing coming back allows me to lead into my final page of the babies spirits can come out of hiding now that all the pollution and vandalism has been stopped the park and all of it creatures can come back and begin the thrive again.

Overall I'm really pleased with how my project came out and how I managed to get my story to fit together and also highlights some important issues that are facing the park and how in the universe I have built up the characters deal with it and resolve the problem. This project made me think about all sorts of different aspects and allowed me to be really free with how creative I can get while maintaining a narrative. my outcome I feel really fits with the idea of making a story within Peel Park.
