LAST PAUL SESSION SPIDER ROOM

In our final session with paul, we were asked to create the room from James bond the spider room on sketch up. As this was our last session we were trying to use and implement all of the skills and techniques we had learned over the last few weeks.

To make this room we looked at reference images of the spider room, this room was not particularly difficult to make the problems I found that I encountered most were the skylight. In this session, we were to create a feature skylight like the one in the film to do this we had to use a tool I had not had very much practice with. we had to go into ''View'' then ''Shadows'' as this enabled the feature. Once enabled this allows you to cast a shadow on top of your 3D model, you can slide two different bars for the month of the year and the time of the day changing both of these allows you to cast a shadow that could be adjusted to however we liked.

However, this was not the challenging part I found creating the skylight the most difficult as I created it through components, this caused me problems as I couldn't quite get them to fit in the cutout I had made for the skylight. I had to redo this part a few times to get it right, eventually, I managed to get an attempt I was happy with.

After I had completed my skylight I got to work on the rest of the model, I coloured the outside of the model along with installing a door instead of having a cutout where the door would be. Next, I moved the lighting shadow off the raised platform slightly as I felt this looked better, doing this by using the shadow tool again and adjusting it slightly.

Overall, u am really pleased with my 3D model came out I think compared to the reference image that I was working from I did a really good attempt, however, if I was to do this again I would have used some more items from the workshops etc that I could have used to fill in some of the space.
