To start with, in this session we made another set of stairs, we used the move tool to copy the stairs rather than creating each one individually, then for the bannister, we used the component feature to make each of them react in the same way eg if we wanted to make it taller on one part it changes them all so that we did not have to edit them, one by one, additionally this also helps to keep up the same appearance as they are the same.

After this paul showed us how to create a spiral staircase we did this by creating a series of triangles through a circle that we split into individual pieces, we then used the pull tool to add height to each of the individual pieces. We then used the move tool to copy all of the steps and build up height until we had a stack that was 16 rows tall. We then selected one of each row rotating the column with the pan tool until I had one step from each of the rows, once all were selected I used the move tool to then copy and place the new row of the spiral staircase.

Next using the line tool I added a bannister to the spiral staircase to practice using the component tool more as all the stairs were a component so when I added a railing to one piece it added it to them all making it a really easy and quick process.

Next, I repeated the same steps to create the spiral staircase, but I added on more steps as I wanted to see if it changed the difficulty but it was just as easy so I felt now I was much more confident doing something like this again in the future.

Finally, we were learning how to create cutouts and intersecting shapes together as we would be working further on these in later sessions, I created a series of cylinders that had cutouts from intersecting cubes and other cylinders together. and then used the eraser tool to remove anything that I did not want as these tools both go hand in hand.
This was a really good session to build upon all the previous things I had learned from making towers and additional chess shapes. gaining more confidence with the move tool to copy shapes will aid me heavily in my future SketchUp work.
