As a follow up for the week 3 cad session with paul he asked us to complete a full chessboard, this was a simple enough task as once the first side was done I could copy the steps and make the other half. I made a series of cubes all the same size and then used to move the tool to copy them again and again. Then off to the side a made a series of chess pieces, the biggest difficulty I had was making the horse chess piece as until I actually went to make it I didn't think about the head being warped and messed up. Next, I added colour to all of the parts of the chessboard and then group it. Finally, I used the move tool to copy the chess pieces and move them onto the board without touching the master pieces in case anything went wrong.

I'm really pleased with how this came out as a first attempt at making something like this on sketch up I think that it went really well but if I was to do it again I would redo some of the actual board pieces as I think if I could work out how to make the piece look right but as a first attempt this was a great way to practice some of the skills we had learned so far in Pauls sessions.
