BAND PROJECT PROGRESSION / MEETING 2

In this meeting I took my initial works so far which were Mood Boards, Logo, Initial Set Design Renders.

The initial response from the band from my logo was very positive they liked it was simple and got to the point, it fit the casino style i had created also.

Above you can see some of the notes I took from the session, One of their main things was they layout i had chosen. Due to the fact they had recently formed they need to use visual que's, head nodding, hands etc and the way i had it layed out meant the drums couldn't see the others when they needed to. The positioning of my dice stacks to be used my the lead to have a static performing piece that has ranges in height was really good as he can have focus on himself.

They asked for the drums to move to the centre of the stage as him seeing visual ques was the most important, and they wanted the guitars moved to where drums where as it flowed better in terms of the LOS between everyone.

They also requested the archway under the slot machine was widened for the drummer to fit along side with the addition of a set of stairs and a balcony, for the singers to have a transitional space to get from one side of the other stage. This also gives them the ability to having a range of height and audience interaction when on stage. In the previous session the band expressed their interest in having their own identity expressed as individuals my way of interpreting this was defining their own unique areas, eg there being a stack of dices for Michael to crouch on, stand on, jump off etc, Cards stacked at the back for guitarists to stand against being long and fanned out to offset the length of the guitars while also adding some background elements. From this session we discussed the idea of expanding the archway underneath in my original meeting I hadn't really considered what to do with the archway itself, this will ideally have LED paneling in blue to contrast my relatively simple colour pallet. This meeting really helped me to find my direction in this project while also figuring out more of what the band wanted sadly they were not al there so I could only get feed back from 2/3 of the band but that was a great help either way.
